[Palerang-news] Palerang Council News: Temporary road closure at Majors Creek Bridge

Council advises that the Majors Creek Road at the Majors Creek Bridge will be temporarily closed from 7 March to 15 April 2011.

The temporary closure will allow Council to undertake necessary repairs to the bridge over Majors Creek along the Majors Creek Road.

Council anticipates that the works will be finished by 15 April, but adverse weather and unforeseen structural problems may affect the timing of this work. Council will advise if circumstances change.

[Palerang-news] Palerang Council News: Veolia Mulwaree Trust funding round now open

The first round of funding for Veolia Mulwaree Trust community grants in 2011 is now open.

Eligible community organisations may apply for a donation of up to $1000 by filling in a simple one-page form.

Community groups can also apply for a grant for larger projects. Guidelines and application forms are available from www.mulwareetrust.org.au or by calling the Trust on (02) 4822 2786.

Applications for the first round funding close on 16 February.

There will be four funding rounds altogether during 2011.

Palerang Council News: Australia Day Ambassadors in Palerang

Palerang Council is pleased to announce that its Australia Day 2011 Ambassador for Bungendore and Captains Flat is Andrew Heslop and its Ambassador for Braidwood is Glenn Sargeant OAM.

The Ambassadors will present the keynote address at Council's celebrations on our national day, 26 January 2011.

Due to the ongoing drought, Stage 3 water restrictions are mandatory in Braidwood, commencing 19 December 2009.
